FireMon, the leading network security policy management (NSPM) company that brings visibility, control, agility, and automation to enterprise cloud and hybrid network infrastructure, is pleased to announce the general availability of FireMon Asset Manager 5.1. This latest release includes several enhancements from Version 5.0 that launched in May this year, the most significant being its integration with ServiceNow.

Now available on the ServiceNow store as a plugin, FireMon Asset Manager 5.1 ensures smooth and automatic data synchronization across both platforms. Organizations can enhance their IP Address Management (IPAM) and asset management processes while streamlining operations to improve business efficiencies. The ServiceNow plugin is a perfect fit for enterprises looking to gain a unified view of their assets while significantly reducing their manual data handling.

Additionally, the ServiceNow integration means users can seamlessly import detailed Asset Manager device data. This data includes IP address, MAC, device type, OS, model, vendor, serial number, and DNS name which is integrated into a customizable ServiceNow table for enhanced asset management. Furthermore, organizations can easily export any ServiceNow tables to Asset Manager with a single click to streamline the data transfer process further.

The FireMon Asset Manager 5.1 plugin in ServiceNow enables the scheduling of data transfers between the two platforms to ensure information is always up to date and consistent across systems. Through this synchronized environment, organizations can enrich their ServiceNow data model to generate in-depth reports and create dynamic workspaces. Ultimately, this will help drive smarter decisions and streamline operations using the newly integrated asset information.

“The ServiceNow plugin is designed to further strengthen the value proposition of the FireMon Asset Manager real-time cybersecurity asset management solution by enabling network and security teams across the ServiceNow environment to gain full visibility into their entire network infrastructure,” said Justin Stouder, CTO of FireMon.

Beyond the Service Now store integration, FireMon Asset Manager 5.1 has also been enhanced with single sign-on support for the GUI. The solution now also features a migrated cloud scanner to new Azure and AWS libraries to improve device discovery. For example, FireMon Asset Manager 5.1 can ingest AWS and Azure devices without IP addresses. The update brings significant performance improvements as well.

“FireMon Asset Manager has earned a reputation as a solution that provides real-time active, passive, and targeted network and device discovery to detect unknown, rogue, shadow clouds, network infrastructure, and endpoints in the enterprise. Version 5.1 takes this and further enhances the functionality to offer organizations an even more efficient way of gaining complete visibility into all network assets behind a single-pane-of-glass,” concludes Stouder.
