Xendee Corporation, provider of the leading design and operation platform for distributed energy and microgrid systems, announced today that Peter Lilienthal has joined as an advisor.

With more than 40 years of international experience in the design and the economic and financial analysis of hybrid renewable and microgrid projects, Peter Lilienthal brings knowledge and insight to the Xendee team to help develop Xendee’s international presence in areas such as Africa, Asia-Pacific, and other emerging markets around the world.

Dr. Lilienthal served as CEO of HOMER Energy from 2009 until 2019 when it was acquired by UL Solutions, LLC, and previously was the Senior Economist with International Programs at the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) from 1990 – 2007.

Starting in 1992 he was the developer of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s HOMER® hybrid power and microgrid optimization software, which has been used across a variety of markets globally.

“Peter has been an important pioneer in developing microgrid modeling in the industry and paving the way for the current transition to distributed energy,” said Adib Nasle, Co-Founder and CEO of Xendee Corporation. “His work has facilitated the growth of microgrids and minigrids in areas of the world where they can be life-changing for communities that previously lacked access to power or had to rely on diesel gensets. We look forward to his insights and perspective as we continue to develop solutions, and lead this transformation into the future.”

“I have worked for decades promoting the value and potential of distributed energy systems,” said Dr. Peter Lilienthal, Founder and former CEO of HOMER Energy. “It is great to work with Xendee as they have the right vision and are committed to helping all of the players within the distributed energy and microgrid industry.”

With Dr. Lilienthal’s addition to Xendee’s advisors, the company is well-positioned to continue to strategically develop its footprint in international markets and support underserved regions of the world in energy access, self-sufficiency, resiliency, and sustainability.
