JK Moving’s Eckert Honored by ATA as Super Van Operator of the Year and Company Wins Fleet Safety Award

JK Moving Services received two awards during the American Trucking Association (ATA)’s Moving and Storage Conference in Nashville. JK Moving’s Brian Eckert was named Super Van Operator of the Year. In addition, the company was honored with ATA’s Fleet Safety Award for its outstanding highway safety record.

Eckert has been with JK Moving, the nation’s largest independently owned and operated moving company, for a decade, providing exceptional service in a safe manner. In 2022, he was recognized by JK Moving as Driver of the Year and came in second for this prestigious honor this year.

He is a humble person whose career and life are defined by enjoying helping others, as exemplified by his service to the nation while in the Air Force and to the community through his volunteering. Eckert is also a team player and cares for his fellow employees. One time, when he was close to arriving home after a trip, he learned that a colleague had lost his father. Eckert turned around and picked up items from storage for the employee and then stored the father’s items at his own home until he was able to connect with the employee. He also volunteers at his local church when he is back at home in Milwaukee.

The ATA MSC Super Van Operator contest honors exemplary drivers and owner-operators based on excellence in safety, reliability, and customer-oriented truck transportation in service to the nation’s household goods carriers. This contest was open to drivers that operate trucks with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,001 pounds or more, drive 25,000 miles or more in a year, haul 30 shipments or more in a year, and drive for a moving and storage company.
