“Expanding our network into Georgia will be extremely beneficial for the state, enhancing educational opportunities and supporting business and economic growth,” said Lumos CEO Brian Stading. “Lumos’ fast and reliable internet is critical for our digitally dependent society and supports innovation and advancement. Providing symmetrical upload and download speeds, our 100% Fiber Optic technology will be life-changing for thousands of families and small businesses.”

So far, the expansion into Georgia has effectively doubled Lumos’ operational footprint since January, marking its ninth state of operation. This strategic growth plan aims to bring fiber optic internet to underserved and unserved areas, helping to bridge the digital divide and empower communities in the Peach State for years to come.

“I am excited to welcome Lumos Fiber’s investment in Georgia, further strengthening our position as the #1 state to do business,” said Senator Brandon Beach, chairman of the Georgia Senate Economic Development and Tourism Committee. “By expanding high-speed fiber connectivity, Lumos is not only enhancing broadband access but also fostering competition that will benefit consumers while supporting job creation, education, and innovation.”

Lumos will build its 100% Fiber Optic network across Clayton, Forsyth and Muscogee County, servicing the cities of Columbus, College Park, Cumming, Forest Park, Jonesboro, Lake City, Lovejoy, Morrow and Riverdale.

Throughout this period of rapid expansion, Lumos remains committed to providing its customers with superior connectivity, affordable pricing, and excellent customer service to communities across the Midwestern and Eastern U.S. By providing future-proof connectivity, Lumos is helping bridge the digital divide and ensuring more people can access essential online resources, opportunities and services.
